Vacuum Excavation

Work

Vacuum excavation is a non-destructive method of obtaining precise depth and material types. This method uses high pressure water or air to loosen the soil.  A suction hose is used to remove the soil.

Large Vacuum Excavation trucks can provide an 8-12” diameter hole to depths of 10-12 feet. RHD has equipment to provide depth information to 4-5’ deep.

Traditional excavation equipment, such as backhoes, may damage the utilities or require a larger excavation area.
